Welcome to SEUGS!

SEUGS is a peer support and learning environment that aims to bring together graduate students from lower-SES or institutionally underrepresented backgrounds, including students that identify as working-class or poverty-class (or as allies to those from lower-SES backgrounds), currently or formerly homeless, formerly incarcerated, or First Gen.

Our purpose is to foster a support community within Rackham (and on campus more generally) for socioeconomically underrepresented students.  At our monthly meetings, we will discuss academic literature on the career outcomes of students from lower-SES backgrounds, workshop grant proposals and other student work, meet with faculty allies throughout the University, and host networking and social events for peer support.
